Tech Report: Amazon will offer its films and movies on other sites

Amazon is launching a new unit to distribute its movies and TV shows to other media outlets besides Prime Video, its own streaming service. Amazon MGM Studios distribution will make the programming available to rent or buy on other services. It will even be available on airplanes. It will also license the shows to foreign TV networks.

Twitter is purging inactive accounts. If an account hasn’t been used for several years, it’ll be on the chopping block. Twitter CEO Elon Musk says, if users log in, they may be able to keep their account on the site. The purge may lead to a drop in follower counts.

Samsung gets FDA clearance for irregular heart rhythm notifications on its smartwatches. This is meant to work alongside its FDA cleared EKG feature and will debut on its upcoming Galaxy Watch 6.

Cybercriminals are capitalizing on resurgence in travel. Multiple cybercrime groups have been spotted selling stolen credentials and other sensitive personal information, pilfered from travel-related websites. Some are targeting individuals with at least 100,000 miles in their mileage rewards accounts.
