Taxpayers With December birthdays will not receive Motor Vehicle renewal notices

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Georgia Department of Revenue, motor Vehicle Division confirmed Tuesday that they will not be mailing out Motor Vehicle renewal notices for taxpayers with December birthdays.

This is because the renewal notices are maanged by the State. At the county level, the County Tax commissioner can’t query the data in order to send the notices out.

According to Macon-Bibb tax commissioner S. Wade. McCord, the mailing of the Renewal Notice is a courtesy that Bibb County extends to tax payers.He also wants people to know that if you do not receive a renewal notice and your registration is renewed late, you will be assessed a penalty.
