Take a jacket, save a life

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- One Eagle Scout says he’s helping to prevent child deaths this summer at Lake Tobesofkee. 

Troop 235 scout Hunter Martin created the ‘Life Jacket Loaner Station’ just in case families forget infant and toddler life vests when they’re at the water. 

Martin partnered with Safe Kids of Central Georgia to see the project grow.

With a little help from corporate sponsors, and his troop, Martin was able to finish the station in three weeks. 

He adds anyone can borrow the life vest as long as they return it.

The station sits near the boot ramp at the Claystone Park location.
