Suspicious Package in Warner Robins Neighborhood Causes Disruption

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Authorities in Warner Robins closed streets and evacuated homes Saturday afternoon while investigating reports of a suspicious package.

The package was believed to be located near Todd Circle and Hedlund Drive. According to an officer on the scene and residents, the Warner Robins Police Department, the Warner Robins SWAT team and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations assisted in the disturbance. In a news release, the U.S. Attorney’s office stated that possible explosive materials were found while serving a warrant. As a result, homes were evacuated and the materials were removed. The release goes on to say that there is “no danger to any member of the public”.

Police shut down parts of Kimberly Road, Todd Circle and Hedlund Drive on Saturday around 11 a.m. Martha Ivester lives on Kimberly Road and said an officer told her to lock her doors shortly after 10:30 a.m. because they found something “disturbing” in the area.
