Suspect wanted for financial fraud turns himself over

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man wanted by the Macon-Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston County Sheriff’s Office for financial crimes has turned himself over.

Anthony Simmons, 34, of Sacramento, California was wanted in connection for the offense of False Statements and Writings.

According to a news release, Simmons filed a fraudulent “Notice of Contest of Lien” and “Affidavit of Possession” with the Bibb County Superior Court Clerk for a property located on Holley Road in Lizella.

Simmons is then said to have contacted the services of a locksmith in order to remove the realtor locks and take further control of the property.

Simmons was booked June 15th, and later released the same day. He posted a bond of $2,950.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with any further information involving this case is asked to contact the the Macon-Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and leave a message for the “on-call” investigator.
