Surveyor urges fair assessment of Monroe-Bibb county line dispute

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A state surveyor is saying he wants the Secretary of State to look at his findings fairly.

Terry Scarborough says Secretary of State Brian Kemp is favoring Bibb County after several exchanges the two had via e-mail.

The exchanges, sometimes aggressive, stemmed from a request by Kemp for both county commissions to come to a “mediated settlement” before the case goes to the courts.

Both Bibb and Monroe County Commissions turned down the request.

The county line dispute is now in the hands of a Fulton County Superior Court judge.

No word on when the judge will hear the case.
