Summer-like heat today, but a slight cooldown is coming
The high today will get up to around 92(!) degrees. That’s nine degrees above the 83 degree average, though the humidity will fortunately be low. Had we had high humidity, this would feel like a typical July day. Mostly sunny skies, though showers and storms will form today, mostly in these eastern counties: Hancock, Washington, Johnson, Treutlen, northern Laurens and Wilkinson. That will last mostly from noon to around 4:00pm, and it’ll consist mostly of pop-up showers and storms.
Tomorrow, cloud cover increases in the afternoon as a front moves through the area. We’ll see some showers and storms, though it won’t be a washout of a day, and we do not expect any severe weather. Once we get to Wednesday and Thursday, we’ll get sunshine but also a slight decrease in temperatures. I have 88 so far for a high on Wednesday… again, a warm day still… and 86 for a high on Thursday. Thursday morning, by the way, we’ll see a return to the 50s for our morning low.
