Strong storms headed for Middle Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -A strong surface low out of the west is expected to bring the next line of storms to the area between overnight Tuesday and early morning Wednesday.
Ahead of the low expect strong winds across portions of north and Middle Georgia. Wind gusts as high as 30 mph are likely with higher gusts possible. As a result of these conditions, a Wind Advisory has been issued. The front is expected to arrive after 10 pm Tuesday. There is a possibility at least for a few severe storms embedded within the line. The main concern will be the combination of strong gradient winds combined with thunderstorm winds that could cause localized wind damage. The rainfall associated with this system should provide relief from fire concerns, with totals ranging from 1 to 1.25 inches across much of north and west Georgia. As the front clears the state to the southeast, the parent low pressure system will be centered near Michigan, with some light wraparound precipitation on the backside possibly spreading far north Wednesday night into Thursday morning. With temperatures expected to drop into the upper 20s to low 30s, it will be possible for a light rain/snow mix in higher elevations.
