Stray bullet hits woman in East Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a woman being struck in the face with a stray bullet while she sat inside an East Macon home Thursday night.

Deputies say Claria Campbell, 67, was sitting in the living room of a home on Melton Avenue around 7:30 p.m. when a stray bullet came through the wall and hit her in the cheek. Her injuries are not life threatening.

The Sheriff’s Office isn’t sure where the bullet came from, but prior to Campbell being shot, calls of shots fired were reported to Macon-Bibb E911 Dispatch.
