Stratford Academy Leaving GISA for GHSA

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Stratford Academy announces it’s planning to join the GHSA.

A release from the school says the board of trustees voted Monday to apply for membership for the 2014-2015 school year.

“We are grateful to everyone in the Stratford community who provided input into this decision, which was a difficult one,” says the statement.  “The GISA has been a great home for Stratford’s competition in athletics and other activities, but we look forward to embarking on new challenges as we return to the GHSA.”

Tattnall Square Academy also announced Monday its intentions to join the GHSA, joining Mount de Sales, who announced in January it would leave the GISA for the GHSA.

First Presbyterian Day in Macon has been a member of the GHSA since 2010.
