Store Break-in Caught On Video
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three burglary suspects.
Capt. Brad King said the men were captured on surveillance video taking nearly 10 to 15 cartons of cigarettes, from ‘The Friendly Gus’ convenience store, located at 118 Georgia Highway 49, West in Millegdeville.
The store break-in happened around 3:50 a.m., Thursday, according to King.
A store employee arriving to work this morning notified police about the incident.
“They threw a concrete block into the door to gain entry inside the store,” he said. “They were inside for about three to five minutes.”
Two of the suspects were wearing tan overalls the other man was wearing dark clothing.
King added, two of the suspects were wearing gloves. All three were wearing jackets with hoods to cover their faces.
The captain said his office is working to determine if the same men were responsible for other burglaries of convenience stores in surrounding counties.
King said the suspects involved with store burglaries in the other counties, are precise and their heist are well planned out.
However, the captain said as he watched the video he could tell the burglary suspects did not have a plan.
“They appeared to be very unorganized,” he added.
Investigators are processing fingerprints. According to King, they are in the early stages of the investigation.
