Still cloudy, still rainy, still warm
Rain and clouds continue to move through the area due to a southwesterly flow, bringing warm air and moisture from the Gulf into our neck of the woods. Today we see a noticeable increase in our rain chances throughout the afternoon compared to the primarily evening rainfall from yesterday. I expect storms to be embedded within some of these showers. Most of the storms will be your typical spring storms, but there is a marginal chance for severe weather as well. Don’t worry, as that doesn’t mean tornadoes; the biggest concerns would be high wind and hail. Again, the chance for severe weather is very small, so don’t stress over it.
A cool dome of high pressure takes over tonight and overnight. While overnight lows will still run above the average of 50, we can expect temperatures to transition to upper 50s/low 60s instead of the upper 60s/low 70s that we’ve seen recently. Tomorrow’s high will be around 72, which is a big departure from the 80s yesterday and today.
When can we expect sunshine again? As we see it right now, around Tuesday. We’ll continue to watch the models to check for any changes as there’s always higher uncertainty seven days out in the forecast.
