State Rep. Robert Dickey appointed to agriculture committee

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – State Representative Robert Dickey will serve on the Joint Agricultural Exposition Authority Overview Committee.

House Speaker David Ralston appointed Dickey to the committee. It is responsible for overseeing the Georgia Agriculture Exposition Authority and its management of the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter.

“I am honored that Speaker Ralston appointed me to serve on the Joint Agricultural Exposition Authority Review Committee,” Dickey said in a statement. The Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter is a premier facility that has had a huge impact on our local economy. I look forward to serving on this important committee to ensure the center continues to move in the right direction.”

The Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter is a state-owned, multipurpose rental complex that is open year-round. Since its opening in June 1990, the Agricenter has attracted about 18 million people, generating an estimated economic impact in excess of $1.5 billion.
