State NAACP Supports Green Meadows Residents

Residents of the Green Meadows Townhouses in Macon are fed up with what they’re calling discrimination and inhumane treatment.

Leaky faucets, moldy walls, and run down appliances are just a few of the problems that these residents say are not being fixed.

State NAACP representatives came to MaconCity Hall Wednesday to ask for a better living environment at the HUD funded facility.

Residents want new management, and say Macon Police are not doing enough to solve the problem. NAACP representatives say that some residents have been wrongly evicted from Green Meadows for speaking out about these issues.
