State Attorney General reduces fine against Milledgeville City Council

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The State Attorney General’s Office reduced the fine against the Milledgeville City Council.

The state is accusing members of violating the open meetings act. The board sent a representative to negotiate the state’s terms.

Under the new agreement, council can now pay a $2,500 fine which is $1,000 less than the original one.

Council is expected to vote on the new agreement at its meeting on Tuesday, June 9th.
