Standoff in Laurens County ends with suspect in handcuffs
LAURENS COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A standoff in Laurens County ends with the suspect in handcuffs.
Deputies identified the suspect as 38-year-old Richard Toler.
According to a Facebook post made by Laurens County Sheriff, Larry Dean, the standoff happened on Mark Wood Road at Highway 257.
Deputies charged Toler with the following:
- Terroristic threats and acts
- 1st-degree burglary
- 1st-degree arson
Authorities say all other charges are felonies.
Sheriff Deans says the Toler barricaded himself, but sheriff’s deputies arrested him just after 5 p.m. Sunday.
