Special Olympics Athletes Gear Up For Big Race

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Special Olympics athletes are gearing up for the GEICO Road Race this weekend.  The Georgia Area 7 Team has been busy practicing at East Macon Park.  Nandi Issac is one of 1,300 participants who will hit the pavement Saturday, March 3.

“It helps me, it encourages me and stay balance,” said Nandi Issac, Special Olympics Athlete.

Whether Nandi’s training for an event or looking for a fun afternoon, she has a cheering squad on her side and she makes sure to return the love.

“I encourage them with whatever they do, put their mind to it and put their heart where their mind is,” said Issac.
