Snow tubing at Winter Wonderfest in Warner Robins

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Some people took advantage of the cold weather this weekend at the Museum of Aviation’s “Winter Wonderfest,” which featured snow tubing slides, inflatables, rock climbing, bungee jumping and free fall jumps.

Organizers say the event, which is in its second year, brought in two times as many people as last year, which was 4,000.

Seven-year-old Destiny Faulk couldn’t decide what she liked best about the winter carnival.

“Well there’s a lot to choose from, clearly the bungee thing over there,” Faulk says.

Nicole Bissette, the Director of Georgia Aviation Hall of fame, says “Winter Wonderfest” is a collaboration with the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame and the Museum of Aviation Foundation.

“We love seeing the kids laugh and play and it’s just a good family event for all of us,” Bissette says.

Last year, the event raised more than $24,000, she added.

The proceeds from the annual fundraiser will be used for operating the museum and educational programs, continued Bissette.
