“There are so many different apps you can download that will send you coupons straight to your phone that you can actually take to the checkout with you, and they can scan it for you,” says Henderson.

Apps like Shopkick, Google Shopper, Groupon, and Shopsavvy—just to name a few, all serve  to help you keep your family and your wallet happy.

Henderson even shared her favorite shopping app.

“Shopsavvy is really cool, it’s kind of like a barcode scanner, and you can use it to scan one item at a particular store and it’ll pull up and show you at other stores how much it is, and you can comparison shop that way.”

There is also a way to save digital copies of all your receipts. Withan app called Lemon, you can scan each receipt, without having to log it in a checkbook.
