"Sister Theresa is one of a kind and will be missed not only for her contributions, but for the person she is," said Kay Gerhardt, the Board Chair of Daybreak.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A bittersweet announcement from Daybreak DePaul U.S.A. in Macon.

Sister Theresa Sullivan who’s been in Macon assisting the community, is now moving on to help other non-profits.

“Which works with our sisters who are in developing countries Africa, India, South America, Asia and many are trying to do projects like this,” said Sr. Theresa Sullivan, Executive Director, Daybreak.

Through her seven years at Daybreak, Sister Theresa has helped those in need by completing two major projects, the first one being, the Central City Apartments for low income and the homeless and the second one being the Sheridan Health Center.

Sister Theresa is moving on to be the Executive Director of International Project Services with the Daughters of Charity.

“Helping them accomplish feats like combat HIV, also, one of the hospitals, does not have 24-hours electricity so they’re trying to get solar paneling,” said Sister Theresa.

Sister Theresa said, she will miss Daybreak DePaul U.S.A. in Macon, but is excited about her new opportunity.

The Chair of the Board, of Daybreak DePaul U.S.A., Kay Gerhardt, said Sister Theresa is one of a kind and will be missed not only for her contributions, but for the person she is.

It’s amazing, in a town like Macon, a Catholic nun to come in and be beloved by everybody in town.
I’ve never heard anybody say anything negative about her, she just worms her way into your heart and she can ask you for anything.  People grumble, but she’s on the phone,  like it’s Sister Theresa, what do you want?

And, immediately what it is, they do it.

So she’s just got that force.”
