Sister Deborah shares vision for Daybreak, serving homeless community in Middle Georgia
Sr. Deborah is originally from Maryland and served in South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Kenya.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The new Director at Depaul USA Daybreak/Sheridan Health Center, Sister Deborah Mallott, has served with the Sisters of Charity for decades and is now making Macon her home.
Sr. Deborah officially began her new position on October 1, but has been shadowing Sr. Theresa since September. Sr. Theresa will remain in Macon until mid-October to continue assisting during the transition.
Sr. Deborah is originally from Maryland and served in South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Kenya. Sr. Deborah designed and ran numerous services programs while working in Kenya.
“The mission that we’ve been given is to help one another and we do that together,” says Sr. Deborah. “All of us, no matter where we are, in Kenya, South Carolina, or Georgia, we need help. When we stick together we are much, much stronger.”
Sr. Deborah says she looks forward to serving the homeless population and the entire community.
“I’m totally committed to helping our brothers and sisters who are homeless,” says Sr. Deborah. “I ‘m looking for help, for volunteers, for donors, for anybody who wants to be a apart of this mission and ministry.”
