Shoppers scramble for last minute gifts
Shoppers were in and out of Academy Spots and Outdoors all day looking for last minute gifts.
Sales Associates said the entire week has been slammed with customers. They even ran out of trampolines and had to restock Wednesday morning.
Tonya Banks is one person looking for last minute items. She’s doing it to make sure her children are happy on Christmas morning.
She told 41NBC her daughter added a bike to her wish list just two days ago. Tonya went to Academy to get a bike at a great price, but there was one little problem. The bike needed to be assembled.
Academy workers were more than willing to help Tonya. They assembled the bike in less than 20 minutes. That gave Tonya enough time to go go three other stores for gifts for her daughters.
Her children have no idea their last minute additions will be under the tree on Christmas morning.
“I told her, I will try and get in contact with Santa for you, but there are no promises,” explained Tonya.
Tonya is looking forward to her daughter’s reaction tomorrow morning. She knows these last minute gifts are going to make her children’s Christmas.
“It’s going to make mine as well because once you see Christmas through a child’s eyes, that’s precious,” said Tonya.
