Shooting at Division of Family and Child Services office
CARTERSVILLE, Georgia (AP) – Police say one person was shot at the Cartersville Division of Family and Child Services office.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/1tsZJsJ ) reports that Cartersville police say the shooting in the parking lot was not fatal and happened about 2:15 p.m. on Monday. The victim was transported to a hospital and their condition was not immediately known.
Bartow County Sheriff spokesman Jonathan Rogers says the shooting started on Garrison Street behind the office and moved to another location.
Police say the shooter fled when they arrived and has not been caught.
Police say the shooting was not related to the Cartersville Division of Family and Child Services and no employees were harmed but the building was put on lockdown for nearly an hour as a precaution.
