Shirtless man in Macon law office arrested for auto theft, burglary
MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – A Covington, Georgia man is facing charges after deputies say they found him sitting inside a local law office with no clothes.
David Bryant Walker, 31, is charged with Burglary-2nd degree-Felony, Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement-Felony, and Theft by Taking-Auto-Felony. He is currently being held at the Bibb Co. L.E.C. with a $16,000.00 bond.
A deputy responded to a burglary in progress call at a local law office at 1922 Forsyth Street around 2:22 Wednesday morning. The deputy says he found damage to the window in the door frame at the front of the business.
Once inside the deputy reported that Walker was sitting behind a desk wearing nothing but a pair of underwear. According to the report Walker quickly grabbed a fan from behind the desk and stated that the building had a gas leak.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says Walker tried to fight the deputy, but the deputy used a taser. When additional deputies arrived on scene Walker was eventually taken into custody.
During the investigation, deputies also discovered that Walker stole vehicle from Covington and left off Interstate 75 and Forsyth Street.
