The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for low relative humidity and gusty winds, which is
in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening.
* Affected Area...South-Central Georgia including the following:
Crisp, Wilcox, Dodge, Telfair, Wheeler, Montgomery, Toombs,
Emanuel, Treutlen, Laurens, Pulaski, Dooly, Houston, Bleckley,
Johnson, Jefferson, Twigs, Wilkinson, Washington, Glascock, and
Warren.
* Timing...Noon to 8 PM Wednesday
* Winds...15 to 20 mph; with gusts to 25 mph.
* Relative Humidity...Less than 25%
* Temperatures...70 to 75 degrees
* Impacts...With elevated winds and low relative humidities,
critical fire weather conditions are possible. Outdoor burning
is strongly discouraged.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Fire Weather Watch means that there is high potential for the
development of critical fire weather conditions in 12 to 96 hours.
Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
Please refer to the local burn permitting authorities on whether
you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside...use extreme
caution.
