Senator Staton Filing Bill Taking Taxing Power Away From Bibb Co. BOE

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — State Senator Cecil Staton is filing local legislation that takes taxing power away from the Bibb County Board of Education.

A news release from the Senate Press Office states, the legislation would require that the BOE present the final school budget to the governing authority of Macon-Bibb County for review and approval. The legislation reinstates the Macon-Bibb County Commission as the funding authority for the county.
