(CNN)- The U.S. Senate could vote this week on President Donald Trump’s sweeping domestic policy package, which includes major tax cuts, border security measures, and a range of spending reforms. GOP leaders are  working to rally support for what Trump calls his “big, beautiful bill.” Supporters say it aims to lower prices, reduce taxes, and strengthen the nation.

“It’s a plan to cut taxes, lower prices, secure the border, and of course to strengthen our nation,” said Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), the Senate Majority Whip.

Democrats strongly oppose the bill, calling it harmful to working families. “You’re cutting Medicaid, food assistance, child care—making it harder for women to participate in the workforce—all to give tax breaks to people who already have access to all of these things,” said Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE).

One major sticking point is the bill’s Medicaid cuts, which could go deeper than a previous House version. Democrats warn millions could lose health coverage, and even some Republicans are raising red flags.

“The leader needs to get with the rural hospitals and satisfy their concerns to make sure they can stay open,” said Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO).

Another point of contention: a provision to raise the cap on state and local sales taxes. The bill would also extend trillions in tax cuts and raise the federal debt ceiling—sparking concerns among fiscal conservatives.

“At the point Republicans vote unanimously or virtually unanimously for the debt ceiling, they own the debt,” warned Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).
