Senate District 26 Heads to Run-Off

Miriam Paris and David Lucas will face a run-off for Senate District 26.

Paris, Macon’s former City Council President, led the race with 44.6% of the votes. Paris had close to 8,800 votes. Lucas came in second with 39.4% and around 7,800 votes.

Both say they are prepared for the run-off.

“We’re just going to get back to work and just keep doing what we’ve been doing. I think we were very effective especially with someone that has such high name recognition [and] you know a lot a negativity as well. We’re just going to keep working hard… shaking hands,” says Paris.

David Lucas says he would like to challenge Paris to a television debate. The two will face off on August 16th.
