Sen. Brown Hosts Macon-Bibb Consolidation Town Meeting

Senator Robert Brown hosted a town meeting Tuesday night at MaconCity Hall to explain his consolidation bill. State Representative Allen Peake, who also has a consolidation plan of his own, was there to listen to the public’s questions and hear Brown’s comments.

 Peake says there are concerns with Senator Brown’s bill from the house, including the size of city council, the role of the sheriff, and the timing of when the bill will be implemented.

 Peake says the biggest sticking point right now is the authority of the mayor in Brown’s bill.
