Second Street has been closed for more than three months as part of the city’s efforts to revitalize downtown Macon.
Chris Sheridan Construction Company started the work in July using penny sales tax funds.

The roadway features, new asphalt paving, angle parking, a bicycle lane, new side walks and landscaping.

The owner of the Crazy Bull says most of his customers were not hindered by the road closing.

“I’m excited.” said Ricky Hill. “It’s going to be interesting to see the reverse parking. I think that’s going to be the interesting thing, to watch people try to figure it out.”
