Search for New Perry Police Chief Down to Two

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The search for the new Perry police chief is down to the final two.

Perry City Council met on Thursday to discuss the candidates for the new police chief position and narrowed it down to two people: Joseph (JT) Ricketson and Steven Lynn.

Ricketson works for the GBI. He is the Special Agent in Charge of the Middle Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office. Lynn works as an investigator at the Houston County District Attorney’s Office. According to the DA’s website, Lynn has nearly thirty years of experience and was a Captain with the Warner Robins Police Department.

Perry Mayor Jimmy Faircloth says the council will conduct second interviews with the finalists sometime next week and then decide on the new chief. He hopes the council can come to a decision before Christmas.

The search for Perry’s new police chief comes after former Chief George Potter retired in June due to health issues.
