SCORES & HIGHLIGHTS: Perry splits series; Ace eliminated in GHSA Opening Round

The Perry Panthers split their series at home with SE Bulloch, while ACE lost both games to Brantley County to be eliminated

MIDDLE GEORGIA – (41NBC/WMGT) – In the GHSA Opening Round for baseball, AAAA Perry split their series with SE Bulloch at home. The Panthers lost game one 7-5, but rebounded to stay alive by winning 12-1 in game two. The two will face in a winner takes all game three Friday at 5:30.

In AA play, ACE lost both games of their opening round at home to Brantley County. The Gryphons lost game one 3-0, even after Senior Pitcher Jack Corrigan broke the school record with 101 kays during his eight strikeout performance. In game two, ACE were eliminated after a 5-2 loss.

Houston County swept North Atlanta 10-0, 3-2. They’ll play Evans on the road May 1st.

Rutland is eliminated after losing both games to Pierce County 4-1 and 7-1.

Dodge County and Washington County will face in game three Friday at 5pm after splitting their series 10-1, 4-1.

Toombs County advanced with two wins over Jordan 16-1, 13-0.

Southwest is eliminated after losing both games to Appling County 11-1, 16-0.

West Laurens splits their series with Islands 4-2, 4-1. They will face Friday at 5:30.

Howard is swept by Wayne County 10-0, 18-0.

Baldwin is eliminated by Benedictine after losing 11-0, 10-0.
