Schlesinger Wins District 2 Commissioner Election

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It was a particularly sweet win for Larry Schlesinger,
and he enjoyed birthday cake with his family to celebrate the election and another year of life.

He said this past year had been a big one for him, and these past few months with three different elections being pretty tough.

But, he said he’s ready to take on new challenges for Macon-Bibb.

He said the votes he received told him that the old Macon City Council, which was riddled with what he called division politics, meant it was time for a change for Macon-Bibb.

“I’m feeling gratified. Gratified that the majority of the voters in district two voted for my candidacy,” said Schlesinger. “I think that the best thing we can do in the first ninety days as elected commissioners and the mayor is to come together as a team, work together so that we can move this community ahead.”

Schlesinger said he was ready to relax and enjoy the new challenges he now faces.

He also said he could not have done it without his volunteers and supporters.
