Saxon Heights Elementary closed Friday due to flooding
DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Saxon Heights Elementary school in Dublin will be closed on Friday after a pipe burst in the basement.
According to Dublin City Schools Associate Superintendent Fred Williams, the pipe burst in the basement just before dismissal Thursday afternoon. The basement was flooded.
Williams tells 41NBC crews cut the power so they could pump the water out and assess the damage.
Saxon Heights Elementary is the only school that will be closed on Friday in the Dublin City Schools district. According to the district’s website, staff will report as usual.
Williams says parents were notified.
