Santa’s Wonderland returns to Bass Pro Shops in Macon with free photos and family fun

Santa Claus is back in Macon, and with him comes a beloved holiday tradition for families across Middle Georgia.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bass Pro Shops has officially opened Santa’s Wonderland, a free in-store Christmas experience that includes studio-quality photos with Santa, festive crafts, games, and holiday giveaways. The event runs through Christmas Eve and is open to families of all ages.

Michael O’Brien, General Manager of Bass Pro Shops in Macon, says the event has become a multigenerational tradition for many local families.

“We’re so excited at Bass Pro here in Macon that we have been open for almost 20 years now, and we have so many generations of families that are here just to see Santa and enjoy the Christmas experience here,” O’Brien said.

Families visiting Santa’s Wonderland can receive a free 4×6 photo with Santa along with a shareable video. Additional photo packages are available for purchase, but the core experience remains completely free.

To help manage crowds, Bass Pro recommends making a reservation through its Reindeer Express system, which allows families to book a time slot up to seven days in advance. Walk-ins are still welcome and accommodated as availability allows.

In addition to photos, Santa’s Wonderland features rotating crafts and giveaways during weekday visits, as well as special events like holiday story time with Santa throughout the season.
