SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A 41-year-old man from Tennille was arrested early this morning after stealing a City of Sandersville Public Works vehicle and leading authorities on a high-speed chase through multiple counties.

At approximately 9 a.m., Washington County 911 received a call reporting the theft of the vehicle from an area on MLK Drive in Sandersville. Law enforcement then issued a lookout for the stolen vehicle.

A Washington County deputy soon spotted the vehicle traveling west on Highway 540 toward Baldwin County. When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect, later identified as Jerrell D. The chase ended when the Georgia State Patrol took over the pursuit and performed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, bringing the vehicle to a stop. Walker was then taken into custody without further incident.

Walker is facing multiple charges, including felony theft by taking a motor vehicle, felony fleeing to elude, reckless driving, and DUI refusal.
