MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Salvation Army of Macon hosted the annual Angel Tree Distribution Day.
There were 510 angels for the Angel Tree Program, which served 193 families.
One mom that was picking up her child’s gifts said she was grateful for the program.
“It’s a blessing because a lot families don’t have enough funds to do it so it’s very blessing to be here,” said Felisa, an Angel Tree recipient.
The Salvation Army has been working towards this day since October.
Billie Abbott, President of The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, said it’s a lot work, but definitely worth it.
“We double check, we triple check, to make sure those kiddos that wanted a bike, one was donated for them,” said Abbott. “We do a lot of double-checking to make sure everybody gets as much as possible of what they wanted.”
Felisa said she is anticipating her child’s reaction on Christmas morning.
“She loves Christmas so her not able to get anything, to be blessed to get something, it’s a blessing for her,” said Felisa.
