Salvation Army of Greater Macon assisting in recovery after Hurricane Helene

The Salvation Army of Greater Macon is offering emotional and spiritual care, as well as food services for those impacted by Hurricane Helene. 

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Salvation Army Georgia Divisions have expanded Emergency Disaster Services in response to Hurricane Helene across the state, including local efforts in Macon.

The Salvation Army of Greater Macon is offering emotional and spiritual care, as well as food services for those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Sgt. Sarah Sturdivant says the Salvation Army of Greater Macon has deployed people to areas that have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Sturdivant says that the Salvation Army has served more than 80,000 meals so far from active mobile feeding units in six states.

Caregivers have provided emotional and spiritual care to more than 4,000 people.
