With temperatures ranging close to 100 degrees, the Salvation Army in Macon wants people to know about the availability of cooling stations.

The cooling station in downtown Macon is located at the Salvation Army complex on Broadway and allows anyone to come in the main lobby, drink some water, and cool down.

Salvation Army for Central Georgia Major Andy Gilliam says that folk has been coming in on a regular basis since the heat picked up.

The Salvation Army is open 24/7, but the cooling stations are only available from sun up to sun down.
