Cochran Senior Living Community Celebrates 100 Years of Ruth Wells

Local senior living community At Home Cochran celebrates with resident Ruth Wells as she turns 100 years old

COCHRAN, Georgia. (41NBC/WGMT) – At Home Senior Living in Cochran recently celebrated the 100th birthday of resident Ruth Wells. Originally from Arkansas, Wells has lived in three states before finding her home in Middle Georgia with her late husband, Herb, and their two daughters, Judy and Shari.

Wells dedicated her life to education, teaching for an 44 years. She spent the last 15 years of her career at Dodge County High School before retiring. Retirement, however, didn’t mark the end of her service; rather, it ushered in a new chapter. Wells became deeply involved in her community, coordinating Meals on Wheels, working with the Backpack program in Dodge County, and participating in Joy Fellowship with her church. Her dedication to service earned her recognition from G.L.O.W. (Georgia Legacy of Older Women).

Recently, Wells made At Home Senior Living in Cochran her new residence, where she celebrated her remarkable milestone. When asked about the secret to reaching 100 years, Wells offered simple yet profound advice: “Do everyday as you should, and the Lord will see you through.”
