Runaway inmate’s court appearance continues Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon-Bibb County inmate who ran away during his detail duty will appear in court again on Friday.

Bibb deputies found Ishmael Williams around 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the City Lights Night Club on Shurling Drive. He appeared in the Bibb County Magistrate Court today. The judge said he will appear in court again tomorrow when a warrant is ready. No bond was set.

Williams ran away from a work truck on March 20. He faked ill and jumped out of the vehicle when it stopped at a red light at Mercer University Drive and Pio Nono Avenue. Deputies charged him with escape.
