Routine Traffic Stop in Perry Leads to Nine Arrests, Multiple Drug Charges
PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Nine people are in custody after authorities seized drugs and $8,000 in cash during a routine traffic stop in Perry.
On Sunday, a Perry Police officer stopped a van for a traffic violation on Interstate 75. During the stop, the officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana and issued a search. Authorities found 5 ounces of marijuana and $8,000 in cash.
Keith Blair, Fabian Smith, Jason Garcia, Fitz Livermore, Lorne Gordon, Dewayne Hoilett, Omar Glenn, Howard Smith and Dave Richards were arrested and taken to the Houston County Detention Center. Perry Police Department Captain Heath Dykes believes the suspects are from Florida and were heading back that way at the time of the stop.
