Robbery suspect arrested after police chase
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 41-year-old Thomas Wayne Brooks after he led authorities on a car chase. According to investigators, a CVS employee flagged down a deputy and accused Brooks of robbing the store.
Brooks hopped into a Ford F150 and led police on a chase that ended when Brooks hit an unmarked police car and wrecked his vehicle.
Brooks attempted to run on foot and was caught. He’s charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and aggressive driving.
An investigation shows Brooks did not rob the store. He’s being accused of shoplifting. Additional charges are pending.
