Robbery suspect arrested after crashing during police chase

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Lizella man is behind bars after two robberies were reported Thursday, December 4.
 
According to a news release, the first incident happened on Tucker Valley Road around 7:30 p.m. The suspect 50-year-old Dale Brewer allegedly borrowed money from the victim then later returned and assaulted him.

The victim also reported his wallet missing after Brewer left.

The second incident happened around 10:30 p.m. The second victim found Brewer in his home on Forest Place around 6:00 p.m. Brewer left and returned asking to use the bathroom. Brewer came from the bathroom with a rifle the victim was working on.

The victim was pushed to the ground when he tried to stop Brewer from leaving the house with the weapon.

Brewer knew both of his victims.

Friday morning Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies spotted Brewer and his vehicle at a store in the 4000 block of Mercer University Drive.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Brewer, he then led deputies on a chase that ended in a crash on Brown Drive near Moseley Dixon Road.

Brewer was taken into custody and charged with 2 counts of robbery and fleeing from and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer. His bond is set at $23,700
