Roadside Bomb Kills Nine People In Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) – An Afghan official says a roadside bomb has killed nine people, including border policemen, in northeastern Afghanistan. The spokesman for Kunar province says Thursday’s blast occurred in Dangam district.

Wasifullah Wasifi says seven border policemen and two civilians were killed and two women were wounded in the attack. Nobody has claimed responsibility, but insurgents frequently target Afghan security forces in a bid to undermine the Western-backed government.
