Road Closures Set for Filming of ‘Need for Speed’

Macon, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – With all the excitement of filming a new movie in Macon, comes the shutting down of city streets and roadways.

Film crews will be using a portion of I-75 southbound to shoot some scenes throughout the morning. It will start at the I-75, I-16 split, and go through the Mercer University exit. A rolling road block will be used to slow traffic while crews shoot.

Beginning at 6 Thursday morning, and lasting until noon, portions of Hardeman Avenue and surrounding roads will be closed or detoured. Magnolia Street in Downtown Macon will be completely closed from noon today, until 10 tonight.

On Friday, portions of Martin Luther King , Jr. Boulevard and Lower Poplar will be completely closed.
