McClary-Myers says River Edge Behavioral Health offers services in multiple locations and they offer crisis services 24/7.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As the holiday season continues, River Edge Behavioral Health offers tips on combating holiday blues.

Interim Chief Clinical Officer at River Edge Behavioral Health, Frederica McClary-Myers, says the holidays can be a time of joy and cheer, but not for everyone.

“Some people deal with stress, reminders of loss, grief, depression, and more,” says McClary-Myers.

McClary-Myers says to plan things that bring you joy and determine the purpose of events you are invited to. She also recommends staying active and exercising to help increase the ‘good feelings’.

“We encourage people to reach out for support,” says McClary-Myers. “Connection is very important. It can help fight off those feelings of isolation. It can help increase positive interactions and then it can provide the feedback and support that they need.”

McClary-Myers says River Edge Behavioral Health offers services in multiple locations and they offer crisis services 24/7.

McClary-Myers says River Edge Behavioral Health accepts insurance, and also serves the uninsured and underinsured.

“There’s no wrong door,” says McClary-Myers. “Just walk in or call.”
