R.I.S.E. 2025 GRADUATION

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Dozens of students graduated Monday from the Restoring Inspiration by Success in Education (R.I.S.E.) initiative during an emotional ceremony at the Macon City Auditorium, marking a major milestone for young people overcoming adversity and trauma.

Family, friends and community leaders gathered to celebrate the students’ achievements and reflect on the importance of resilience and hope.

Throughout the ceremony, community leaders shared inspiring words about perseverance and the promise of brighter futures. District Attorney Anita Howard, who leads the initiative, explained the program supports children who have been affected by crime or have been victims themselves.

“We want to reach out to them to let them know that they are not just a case number — they have not been forgotten,” she said. “We want to make sure they receive the treatment they need so they have bright futures.”

Howard said graduation is not the end for R.I.S.E. participants. The initiative will continue to provide ongoing support and assistance, with team ambassadors reaching out to graduates every 90 to 120 days.

“Our youth are our future,” she said. “They are our future leaders, and we must be intentional about investing in them. We must be intentional about making sure that they are seen and that they are heard, so that they know that they matter.”
