Restaurant Report Card: Trish Ann’s

HADDOCK, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “It was kinda like eating in someone’s home,” said customer Pat Kinser.

Someone who loves antiques and who loves good food has her restaurant in Haddock.

“It was fun to look at the antiques,” said Kinser. “I had baked potato soup, which was wonderful, and chicken salad croissant.”

But first, let’s take a look at a couple of restaurants that need to step it up this week.

Griffins Right on Q scored a 76.

Employees cooked food in a household crock pot, multiple foods including meat were not hot enough while sitting around, and the hot water heater wasn’t big enough or considered a commercial water heater.

Moon’s wings scored a 75.

They had a mold-like build up on the ice machine, they were reusing bulk soy sauce containers, and they had grease and food buildup next to the fryers.

Other scores this week:

American Wings & Deli on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon – 91

JL’s BBQ on Presidential – 100

King Chef Restaurant on Shurling – 100

Nu-Way Weiners on Bloomfield Road – 85

The Back Burner on Ingleside Avenue – 100

Tropical Flava on Ingleside Avenue – 100

U.S. Deli on Pio Nono – 87

Big Picture Burgers on Highway 96 in Kathleen – 100

Greek Village 3 on Watson Boulevard in Warner Robins – 100

Kimberly’s BBQ on Sam Nunn in Perry – 100

And the antique and food combination works for Trish Ann’s staff.

“I take home more than I can afford, usually, but I find so many things,” said Trish Ann’s server Nikki Lyster.

Cleanliness has found a home amongst the throwback decor as well.

“We keep clorox bottles everywhere, and rags everywhere,” said Lyster. “At the end of the day, everything’s wiped down with Clorox. you know, we sweep everyday, I don’t know, we clean.”

So drop by for some good antiques and have a meal at Trish Ann’s.

It’s making the grade this week.
