Restaurant Report Card: Steve’s Steaks And Seafood

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “My mom and dad started twenty years ago and I’ve learned from them,” said Steve’s Steaks And Seafood owner Steve Mills.

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

“Me and my wife have tried to instill in our employees how to make everything the same,” said Mills.

For Steve Mills, neither does the steak.

His parents have a huge influence on his restaurant, which is located at 3955 Arkwright Rd. in Macon, and so do his customers.

“Steve is my classmate, we’re the class of ’86 from Southwest High School,” said customer Detra Mitchell.

When you’ve been around Macon for awhile, you earn business from way back.

“So supporting him, supporting his restaurant just coming here on a casual lunch date,” said Mitchell.

“With so many years in one town we just have regular customers that come everyday and I just want to thank each one of them for their continued support,” said Mills.

Having steaks and seafood as your main entrees helps too.

“My favorite is probably the Ribeye steak, that’s something we do a lot of and people really enjoy our Ribeye steaks (at Steve’s),” said Mills.

And the perfect health inspection on the wall is Mills’ pride.

“That’s the first thing I want the customers to know when they walk in they are going to walk in like it’s their own home,” said Mills. “(It’s going to) be clean and it’s going to be prepped good with fresh food.”
